I definitely do business a little differently than most, and it might seem weird to offer a sliding scale for jewelry and ask for what clients are able to pay. I wish I had the guts to just estimate higher each time. I'm also just ridiculously honest which is weird too! But in a world where contractors or car mechanics or dentists will just bill you higher than expected, I try to do things a little differently and acknowledge the original agreement we had, and that I don't know exactly what my client's finances are.
